Interesting. When was this?

That is not the answer that I got when I asked him about it. Then again, maybe I get different answers from him because I work on the rule set for one of the series that he has a team in and I am also a senior official at one of the events in that series.

Alan,

I enquired about his two cars and the different colors numerous times via email and a phone call and a friend of mine that writes articles for Moss & Classic Motorsports magazine interviewed him and mentioned my project and he voiced his disapproval of replicating any of "his" cars.

I guess another difference is that I told him that I was intending to build a replica of the works/Tony Pond cars.

TR7V8 or TR8? That is the question.

They N/A V-8 ralley cars were rallied as TR8's and in Europe raced as TR7V8's as the TR8 wasn't introduced into production there.

There is rally/road race info of the day on the TSOA newsletters.

Interesting article about the Canadian cars, do you know who wrote the article? It does not give credit from what I can see in the newsletter.

Thanks

Paul

Have you heard of any of these local(to us) names before? I have never heard of any of them. I would guess that maybe David might know the names or perhaps Terry Dale would know of them.

Interesting though

N0 I don't. The OBCC is a separate car club from us (OECC) so we don't have any contact to speak of. OECC has chapters in cities throughout BC but for some reason Kelowna isn't part, strange as the founder of OECC is from that area (although now living in Victoria). We did donate money for a brass bell for their BL antique fire truck they are restoring.

I'm surprised you never heard of these guys before Mark !!

the likes of Cam Champion and Bob Armstrong are fairly well known here in the east, they raced very often in many road racing series both at Mosport and Tremblant....I even have a pic (in a shoe box somewhere) of Cams TR8 at the Montreal car show circa approx. 1981
If I remember correctly, Cam was also racing in the Rothmans Porsche series in the eighties/nineties....I know his Toronto based company PerformanceCars was a popular sponsor of a few 944's

Jean-Paul Perrusse is still somewhat active even today in rally and iceracing , and has a few championships in both series !

I know Doug Woods (Walter Boyce's co-driver).

It seems that not all of the cars were crushed. John Shirley (an official with NASA RallySport) in Tennessee has an ex-Boyce, ex-Perusse TR. I think the last time that he ran the car at STPR (central PA) in the 90s.
