Where can I find a list for paint codes/int codes?

Postby BlueTR7vert » 24 Sep 2011 21:25

Where can I find a list to decode the paint codes and interior color codes that are on the data plates on the drivers door jamb on the TR7's?

They left black off. My understanding is the color for the Spider is called Maraschino. Not sure if that is correct though. Is there a paint code for the Spider?

There were three black codes. PAG, PMA & PCF (Marashino).

The Spider Maraschino Black had some red mixed into it. I am not sure about the Premium cars sold in England.

That listing is still missing the mysterious JMA code that is not supposed to exist, or is a typo or just one more example of - ahem - quality control at the factory. My car has it clearly listed on the door plate. The code is supposed to be Pageant Blue or something like it.

Pretty sure (off the top of my head!) my black Premium is PMA. Originally with RAG (Golden Tan Check) interior, though changed at some point in its life prior to my ownership to RAA (Black with Red Check), which I actually prefer.

You will find all paint lists in Bill Piggott's book " Original Triumph TR7 & TR 8"

Well not "all". It doesn't have the black's or JMA which is listed on The Spitfire list of paint codes. It does however have the Tumeric Yellow (FCB) of Yellow TCT, a 1980 paint. We should all understand by now that no list of the past is complete, same with any production numbers or any other compilation. Not just the pervue of Triumph but the British motor industry in general it seems. Two Piper GTT's had the same serial number and they only made 80 of them (more or less).
