Ally Hickman Drive Day - 11th September

Postby jclay (RIP 2018) » 30 Aug 2011 04:46

It will be four years on 9/11 that the wonderful Ally was taken from all of us.

I would propose that we all drive our TR7s/TR8s on that day with our headlights on. She would have loved all the wedge owners driving their car on one day a year!

Depends on what country you're in. Some have month first some have day first. Didn't realize it was on the anniversary of the twin towers, known by the US and round the world as 9/11 (their convention)..

Like the idea of Alley Drive Day. I'll be on the road with thoughts of her on the forum. I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to talk or meet with her.

Will (or should [?]) be homeward bound with the DHC that day, taking part in Club Triumph's 10CR [:)]

A great idea, although I'm a bit far away to take part.

I will never be able to look at a wheel cylinder with out thinking of her, & her fight with those retaining clips. A great lady.

If it all goes well we will be competing in the final day of the WRC. It starts on thursday the 8th and finishes on Sunday the 11th. I think Ally would of enjoyed a TR being driven to its limits.[:)]
