The smallest I can find to fit between the two numberplate lights is
this one....

Not sure if the overall length (140mm) includes the fixing brackets.

i like the MX5 version(without the chrome)but i would fit it on the bootlid just before the edge so it lifted on the lid, sod it! i will get one this week and fit it as i have been contemplating it for a few weeks now, time to act...[:D]

I have fitted one on my 7 that I got from Halford's for my FHC. It has stickers on either end so I was able to fix it to the top of my rear glass. It is good as in the dark when I put the breaks on I can see that the red light comes on through the reflection.

That's exactly the same one I'm looking at. I think it will fit appropriately onto the boot of the DHC without looking out of place.

Any links for the MX5 light. I can find the cover for it, but not the light.

After a long search "months"

I have now got a MX5 light

Image

I sat it in place and it looked good BUT unforchanatlay it did not fit...[:0]

when you opened the boot it hit the light

the light is about 3 to 4mm to tall

Image

so I had to set about reducing the height by sanding it down to size

Image

Image

Now fully sanded

Image

using sanding block sanding it totally flat and with fine paper keyed ready for top colour

Image

will post more later when I do it.

OK Stevie,
you forgot to give the forum the Mazda spare parts number...

And;
Is it LED lighted or bulbs?

odd the part is far to expensive for me to bother about part numbers

I got it from e-bay for £25 second hand

It is from a mk3 Mazda MX5 2007

Yes they are LED lights

Hmmm.. I do like the ingenuity of some of these options (the roll bar light, the Mazdza light and the under-boot light) Choices, choices! It's got me thinking now...

A lot of work done on that light. I almost hate to ask, but could you have mounted it on the boot lid and saved all the grinding?

Odd,

How did you get the wires from the luggage rack into the boot?

sealed up with a silicon cement. No problems so far...
