Well not strictly true have got right hand indicators working

I have put all the standard bulbs and light units all back in

replacing my led units,I made two short videos for you to see

Hi Stevie,

Bit of puzzle, i would disconnect the N/S indicator circuit ( Green and red wires if i remember correctly ) wherever poss ie. front lamp connector under the bonnet, the dash, the rear lamp wires of the holder, side repeater lamps, in attempt to isolate the area of the short /fault.

With all the bulbs disconnected, including the dash repeater lamps and side repeaters ( cant remenber if you have them on yours ? ). With a ohms meter on the <u>NON LIVE</u>side of the fuse, removed and a good earth you should have no circuit through to earth, dont forget this fuse will feed other circuits so they will need insolating too. IF you do have a circuit themn we have short somewhere, maybe you have had mice having a meal over the winter! They love wiring insulation!. I am sure there is a crimp type bullet connector for each side of the indicators. I have the dash out of my FHC, will have a look tomorrow eve and see if i can locate it. May be a case of disconnecting the wire from this to once again isolate the fault.

One last thought, have you got a alarm fiited that uses the indicators ?

I was working on the car all day yesterday trying to find this fault

had to give up about 8:00pm before I went mad

(some would say that I was to late..[:D] )

the first thing I did was to strip out the alarm even though it was the side lights that it used

but these did not work ether ( this switch was very dirty ,all working now)

I have little time to go back out till next weekend

but I will try pulling the red and green wire from the circuit.</b></font id="teal">

just another longshot stevie i seem to remember you saying that your ignition light was on last time you started it, which may indicate (no pun intended) that your alternator was on its way out, often with these cars if the alternator is on the way out then it wont flash until you get past 2000 revs

It rides again..... and again wehey!!!!!!!

Two points when laying up a car (IME) - 18 month old petrol is OK! And using a dehumidifier is a must - the brake disks were still shiney.

Crikey Steve, looks like you are having an absolute nightmare!! I'm a no-hoper with the electrics and have fixed all my problems with more luck than judgement but if you do need a spare hazard switch i think i have one I can lend you to test. The flasher unit on the left side will be going very fast because the bulb isn't applying a load to it I'd imagine. Have you checked the wiring in the boot that goes up behind the rear wings for damage or even the ribbon along the passenger sill under the carpet... a long shot as I believe your problem will be with a switch or a bad earth in the console somewhere.

I'm beginning to wonder whether its an issue with the stalk switch?

By the way I have red cruise lights in by boot for you if you still want them

Hi Stevie,

A 'Post Card ' from Luton, what sort of condition is the printed circuit on the back of your intrument cluster [?]
Strange the way the repeator does not work on the N/S but attempts to flash the other warning lamps very bizarre
Wish you were closer and not north of Bedford! as sure between us we could sort this out
If you have a multi meter check that there is only cont to the repeater connectors and it has a good earth.
If you disconnect the dash does the indicators work or does the fuse blow ?

I remember a rev counter in one of my TR7's that needed a few minutes before it woke up after starting the engine ...
