hardtop search back on

Postby nervousnewowner » 05 Apr 2011 17:25

hey guys and gals, thanks to a nod from rosey i am yet again watching a hardtop on ebay, only 3 day auction and 95 starting bid so am watching like a hawk, anyone on here bids on it am not talking to them.,......[:(!]......only kidding, but guys, it would be such a laugh if i won it for a reasonable price, its the one i went to look at on way to the nec, remembering i'm in south wales, the owner said she couldnt be bothered digging it out to send me pics, wanted top dollar for it as its such a "rare" example, then on the day i drove up, left her house 10 minutes before i got there, even though i text when in brum, saying i was too late for the time i set her......... she was on her way to cardiff!!!!!!!!! told me she thought i was nearly hour away, brum to rugby an hour? then in the following texts got stroppy with me and then finally said she prob getting another tr7 and would not sell to me!!!!!

so everyone wish me luck, and if anyone else bids from here good luck too [:D]

am gonna be a nervous wreck by end of the auction!!!![B)]

Good luck on the auction, I hope you get it for cheap. Don't tell her you're the one she was talking to before until you get it on the truck as she might not give it to you.[:p]

however it was my secret friend so claire does not tie a merthyr bidder in with me,,,,,,,, [:D] guys i just bought a portable garage for my car......... can put the interior back in it now..[:p]

only problems are 1, collecting it on weekend, dont think will fit in focus so borrowing sons 306 and crossing fingers, 2, when to tell the wife i bought it, and 3, she off on hol end of april, do i hide it til she goes away or just bring it home and accept the flak/abuse/thrown objects/divorce.........

Just bring it home and suck it up. No reason to put off the inevitable.[B)]

You can be economical with the facts when you inform the Minister for War & Soft Furnishings of you purchase , for instance since she has no way of knowing how much you paid as your friend did the bidding, so instead of 132 quid tell her you got it for the absolute bargain price of 32 quid! A much easier pill for her to swallow, it could help minimize the size and or amount of the flak/ abuse/ thrown objects/ divorce settlement. [:D]

Tell her now and get it over with!

The sooner its over the sooner you get to enjoy your acquisition[:D]

I bought one 15hrs away (one way), and had to pick it up and trailer home. As luck would have it the minister for house hold finance wasn't interested in coming with me so I took a few days off work and went on a road trip.

Admittedly I am still paying a toll for not consulting prior to purchasing..............LOL
