Cleaning back side to regular scanner is pretty easy. A couple of screws at the bottom or end and the top lifts off, sometimes clipped on at one end. Clean with lint free cotton cloth (microfiber cloth would work). Moisten with some propanol alcohol (99% or lab grade) and keep wiping as it evaporates will leave a streak free result. handle by edges, and hold up to light to make sure job is done. Reverse disassembly.

Scanners that are part of a all-in-one printer can be a bit of a PITA to take apart though.

My first wedge (a 1975 BRG TR7) was actually my brother's before I bought it off him (and now he has it back). Taken shortly after he'd bought the car, already he was the 3rd owner and the head had already been off, 1978 or 79.

Taken on holiday in Tunisia 1975. I still have that incredibly large Bow-Tie!

Taken in 2008. Same car, 33 years later and slightly modified.

My first TR7, a 1980 Canley FHC car sold in Australia as part of the PRO racing series. Photo taken in Darwin 1988 during my Airforce days. Loved the car including the brown and gold with Tan Tartan, didn't keep the car or the woman I sold it for to appease.
Now I own 2 TR7 V8's to make up for it [^]

Hook, line & sinker! And I suppose you no connection to the woman in the bikini either. [:I] Just a phone number will do.
