Anyone else taxed their wedge year round.......

Postby busheytrader » 07 Mar 2011 17:13

Home from work early and the sun was shining so I took the 7V8 out for a quick 20 minutes bimble around Radlett and Bushey, the first time out this year.....and saw the first Ducati of Spring. The heater still works after last year's rebuild so the rear window was unzipped as well.

A slight misfire at 4,500rpm, probably as the secondaries sought themselves out after standing idle. (It really moves when the secondaries come in![:D]) The torque's pretty nice low down as well. Oh for a 4.6L with a 2.84 rear axle.

Which side of £65.00 will it cost to fill the tank though[:0]

just taxed the Grinnall for 12 months as I tend to want to use it for 7 months to accommodate all the shows - then cash the remaining months in if you don't want to use all year round. Usually end up doing some work on the car over the winter months. Next job will be install Offenhaiser manifold and Edelbrock when I've got all the bits together.
Talking of that anyone know what or where to get an accelerator cable from and do I need to connect the choke up?

We are taxed all year round whether we like it or not. If there is a gap between the expiry & renewal dates on the rego you are backdated unless you apply for the rego to be on hold so it isn't worth doing for a part year.

Dave, you probably wont need a choke with a big 4 barrel carby - just speaking from my experience.

All TR7's are by now tax exempt in The Netherlands [:D]
Been using the Sprint for a few runs already this year ...

Have to admit that the current fuel prices (approx. € 1,70/lt) take a bit of the fun away [B)]

Mine's registered as an antique so now all I pay for is insurance.
And fuel.
And maintenance.
And repairs.
And the Florist to keep the wife happy! [;)]

My collector car insurance is all year (only way they sell it). I usually do whatever maintenance etc. in the winter so I'm not doing it in summer. We do get dry days in winter so I will drive it in winter when I get all my plans done up. This Winter it's replace hard poly on rear axle with soft poly, disassemble and lube service counter (done), drive it to muffler shop to get new muffler welded in. Then it's finding were my 12v to dash lights went to if time allows. I've got other cars so theres no point in driving it when it's raining except for getting caught in the inevitable spring showers.

Just as Beans - tax exempt... [8D]
So the cost is the same for one day on the road - or one year... SEK 65 [:D]
(or roughly GBP6.3 EUR7.3 AUD10.1 USD10.2) + Insurance (@ ten times as much: SEK 662) [xx(]

Mines taxed all year and used all year, especially on cold dry Winter days [:)].
The Beast much prefers the icy-cold air of a Winter's day compared to hot Summer weather [}:)]. V8's rule [:D].
