I have got AP 4 pots with AP vented discs on my 2L coupe, it stops very well even with a standard master cylinder/servo.

If you have separate discs mounted to bells, my first thought would be to refurb the calipers, & just replace the discs.

However I know AP discs can be expensive. I found this firm to be very knowledgeable & helpful about all things AP:

Hi,

If you get the parts at a resonable cost and safe to do so i would recon them as something a little different to the Capri or Princess set up.

Cheers John

I was having a look online today at various options and although my calipers are AP I think they may well be just Princess AP calipers, if that is the case then I will be looking at replacing them.

Hi
If calipers are AP steel 4 pots they could be princess with 245mm
disc which was a Rimmers kit or SD1 rover 260mm disc also from
Rimmers, 3247 is the number on my princess ones, if you want
new have a look at this site www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk and look
at brake kits/Triumph they have 260mm disc and ali 4 pot caliper
kit for under £400 but check for wheel clearance.
Good luck.

Regards Scott

Hi,

Poss Princess calipers, but how many brake pipes have you got going into the caliper ? The Princess has 2 and 3 bleed nipples.

Cheers John

Hi,

Sound like Princess calipers, they have a bleed nipple on each side in the middle and one at the top.

Cheers John

Try contacting Ian Godney at Godspeed brakes in Bridgend, South Wales. He specialises in performance braking and can supply you with replacement rotors and he can also overhaul you calipers as well.

I looked at skimming the Discs I have and re-furbing the calipers, but I was not happy with the pads, its the correct pads for the calipers but then ground out a bit to clear the AP bells.

I have ordered new discs, callipers and pads.

Photos to follow when I get them.

The Brakes fitted no problem but the New hoses don't match up so quick call tomorrow to order what I need.

Then I wil tidy up the Princess calipers, AP alloy bells and discs and sell them.[8D]
