Should work fine.

You may only need 2 screws at the top. The design stills allows some vibration absorbtion because it doesnt use freeze up the bottom of the mount which usually stays intact. You could also use something like loctite 601 or 638 to lock the screws in place.

I have the welded version from S&S on my DHC.

jclay,

On my previous dhc the bumper bracket were welded as per S&S so making them fixed but I was thinking along the same line has yourself but with using counter sunk screws / tapping out a screw thread etc.

The only comment maybe is wouln't it be better having two screws on the top edge and one on the bottom edge in a triangle pattern, so holding the bracket plates parrellel & straight.

But do like the idea and will work with the unscrewed edge been in compression with the weight of the bumper.
