Hi Thomas
The dip-stick is 570mm long.
The rubber sleeve from the engine block is - as
near as I can measure - 390mm long
The High Oil mark is Circa 30mm from the end....
Hope this helps.

Thomas, the official Leyland manual states the capacity of the sump
is 4 litres, [7 pints]. The capacity of the sump, & the old style
canister oil filter is 4.5 litres.
I suggest you drain the oil, tip in 4 litres, then adjust the length
of your replacement tube, so the dip stick reads full. Then there is
no guess work as to if you even have the right dip stick.

Can't seem to get a consensus. My TCT dipstick tube is 15 5/8" or 397mm long. Seems Hasbeens advice is most appropriate here.
Peter, has your wife been talking to my wife?[:D]
