The exhaust is in. I didn't feel like spending $170 on a replacement front muffler from VB and Moss was "N/A", so I hit the Summit online catalog and found their only 1.75" muffler. It's a 17" cherry bomb from Thrush. That and a short piece of pipe and I have a complete exhaust again. And it's relatively quiet. I still have the second tiny muffler near the tail pipe.

Now, here's my question. Now that the exhaust is creating some back pressure, would that cause my idle to be a little higher (remember, it's fuel injected)??

Tim,

With a new muffler, you will increase the back pressure. This may raise the CO2 level in the exhaust causing the Oxygen sensor to give a different reading and could effect the idle.

I am not a fuel injection specialist, but I do remember that my Harley had the baffles cut out of the muffler and I used to pack it with fiberglass from used air conditioning filters (OK, I was only 12!). They would last for about three days, but my gas mileage with triple!
