No Problems

Postby calex59 » 07 May 2008 16:38

I have a 1980 TR7 with the eight valve 2.0L engine, it runs perfectly and has no problems and I was wondering what is wrong with it. All the electrical works great, radio, lights go up and down and actually light up, turn signals work, idles good at about 900 RPM, doesn't miss and has plenty of power. Am I doing something wrong? What should I do to get all the problems the rest of you are having, I feel like I am out in the cold here!

All joking aside, I have had plenty of help here on this forum in getting the choke(AKA fasd)and the transmission going well. This car has exactly 11,000(you read right)original miles on it. Sat in a garage for many, many years and the had some problems when I bought it, but not serious stuff, stuff that I had no clue about none the less. Thanks to all of you, from the UK and Austrailia and the occassional American and Candian(I am in the US) for all the help. It runs great now. Worse thing about it is the top and I have patched it to keep out the rain until I can get a new one. I don't need a top now as it is spring here in Northern California and comming on to summer. Good motoring and drive the hell out of them.

Calex59, now, or summer, is a good time to do the top, before it starts raining (assuming NC winters are like that). It is also much easier in the warm with the sun on it as it is softer and easier to manipulate.

Yes, I am afraid of that! I hope you realize my post was, mostly, satire. I really wanted to just thank all of the people on here for the help I received in putting the few things that were wrong with it, from sitting so long, right.

Yes, it is much easier to handle in warm weather. BTW, mine looks much like yours, it is the off white color also and has gotten many compliments, it is hard to believe how many women are taken with the appearance of my car!

Mine is Pendelican White (where do they get these names?). The pic was manipulated by jclay who kindly assisted in getting it into the signature and proved his prowess with photoshop by swapping an English country garden backdrop for Niagra Falls! Probably getting a bit of rust coming through by now.

Posting on this forum that you've not got any problems should do the trick!
