lugnuts

Anyone know where I can get a set of lugnuts for rims such as the ones below? The pic below isn't mine, but another memeber's, I'll have pics of my 7 when I get the time. TIA!

Humanoid, that's the oem TR8 alloys - most of the usual suspects can sell you nuts for them.
Unfortunately the quality isn't what it used to be...

(You missed out on the last (ever?) batch of high quality stainless nuts that guy in Britain had
made for us last fall. Pity, since they are the best ones I've ever seen...)

Odd, those are TR8 rims? Really? Hmmmm, the previous owner must have upgraded to those rims then because that's what I have now as well the the spare. I found what looks like a set of those lugs on eBay, but I need to get back home to compare to see if those are the ones I'm seeking. Thanks for your reply!

Those rims were installed on several other models such as the Spider edition.

While they were standard on the Spider and came on most TR8's they were optional on standard models.

Alright, the set that I found on eBay look different than the ones on have on my TR7. Here is the link to the auction:

The ones I have have a rounded top compared to the eBay ones. So where the heck can I purchase them? I just need 4 of them. The previous owner only had 3 lugnuts on each wheel! You think a junkyard might have them?

As the owner of the pictured car, I can tell you that the alloys are not specifically tr8 ones, I bought them second hand complete with tyres. The TR8 alloys would look similar from the same distance, slightly different colour and marking codes I believe.

They were actually standard fitment on all later (Solihull) TR7 FHC's.
Also over here in the Netherlands nearly all DHC's were delivered with these alloys right from the start in May 1980.

Yes, but you can't get around the fact the design was created for the TR8. Hence 'TR8 alloy rims'...

If I were Humanoid I'd stop looking at various offerings on e-bay - and just order a complete set
from either Rimmers, S&S, Robsport, TSI or Woody... Then I'd know I got something that fit correctly.

LOL! I have the same kind of response from my wife, Ray - "Never mind what the car looks like, what about my hair?" "You look fine dear ..........."

For my TR7 that has the TR8 alloy wheels, I used these lugs nuts which were available at my local auto parts store " Murray's ". These are chrome / nickel plated and have curved or rounded bases to properly
self center into the alloy wheel's mounting holes.

The bagged E-bay nuts shown are the ones for the standard steel wheels. The plating quality on these was always lousy. I remember working on TR7s around 1980 and the lug nuts being badly rusted then.
