clutch stuck

restoration near complete but as it has been sitting in a garage for several years clutch plate has stuck, any ideas as best way to get it free without taking gearbox out, have bled the system. I reckon towing it with it in gear and clutch pedal down but do not want to risk any serious damage. Thanks

Run the engine till it is hot.Switch off engine,put into top gear depress clutch apply foot and handbrake and try to restart engine.If this does not work try towing but with engine hot.if you still can not release the clutch you will have to remove gearbox.

I'm nearing the point of having this same problem, and in the past I've gotten the engine warmed up per Spyder, shut it down, pushed the car into the street, put it in first gear, then started it up. It bucks wildly down the road as I'm frantically pumping the clutch pedal, but (so far -- 3 times in 30 years) it's always freed things up before I've gone 100 feet. Not for the fainthearted, and there's the potential to do some damage to the mechanicals.

Thanks warming up the engine was not something I had thought of doing before jumping it
