A/C into None A/C TR7

Hi. I am try to put a A/C unit into my TR7 and need some info on mounting the
Evaporator unit in the car. I haven’t be able to find any info on the mount at the gear selector end.

Anyone have photo of the HVAC (heat ventilation air conditioning) unit mounted in the car.

If memory serve me correctly. There is two studs on the firewall that support it there and two little brackets that are just flat strips of metal that bolt to the metal frame that supports the dash and bolts to the front of the A/C unit. I never considered this a big job and I always thought it was one of the simpler retro fits of an A/C unit. Sorry though, I don't have any pictures.

For what it's worth, Moss has a pretty decent deal going on complete HVAC setups - I'd love to know where they dug these up. I went ahead and bought one - the individual parts are worth more than they get for the whole thing.

Hi thanks for the feed back, I pick up the unit from a fellow club member (TSOA Victoria Australia) It’s just like the one in the Moss catalogue.

Anyway when I pulled it apart to have the heater core cleaned, one of the HVAC engineers at work (GM Holden) advised that being a sheet metal case I should insulate it. So it has been fully lined with 2mm self adhesive close cell foam.

The unit is deep and thicker than a heater unit. The air outlets also change shape and location. When the unit is in the car, the studs in the fire wall line up with no problems. But the unit sits hard onto center support and the bent brackets use to support the HVAC unit are not the right shape or length.

The other problem with centre support is that on the steering wheel side the opening for the air outlet no longer lines up with the one on the HVAC unit.
I need some photos to see how much the centre bracket changes.

I have item 15 in my car, it is for a heater W/O A/C the opining on the RH is for a heater and interferes with the outlet for A/C. So I need a support that dose not have that configuration on the right hand side, The bracket I require also needs to sit further to the rear of the vehicle.
Also in the A/C unit on page 63 shows that it in deeper in depth and the side air outlets are square. I need the RH side square shaped one. (item 2 on page 63) which is no longer serviced, looks loke I will be making something up.

In the engine compartment I will be using the compressor form a Holden (Isuzu) Rodeo 4 cyl. Thought I would use the front pully of a Saab 99, guess what, different crank diameter, so I am lloking for a pressed steel pully to fit into the triumph pully as I don’t think I will be using the OE part.
