I fancy a convertable and like my tr7...can I saw the roof off it? It leaks real bad through the door seals anyway!! I imagine you would have to strengthen the door panels and other body bits... or I could get hold of a targa roof.

Inside of sills need strengthening.
But you also need to brace the inside of the B-pillar ...



And a welded in stiffning brace/plate in the boot ...



Also rear deck and top of window frame needs altering etc.
To keep it short, I wouldn't recommend it

Both have been done <u>BUT you really need to know what you are doing</u> or you will destroy your car and end up with a death trap [xx(] Lots of extra streghting goes into a convertable or you end up with a 'box with know lid' all floppy [:0]
Better to by a 'real' DHC unless very handy with a hack saw and welder, plus will never be worth as much as DHC or FHC because its neither!!

There is a very nice converted fixed head that has been at the TR Drivers Club National weekend a couple of times. I'm sure I have a photo somewhere, I will try to dig it out...

Now that i like,very kewl.No chrome either ('cept the hood studs)
and the raised rear deck is pleasing to the eye where it meets the
hood cover.Lurv the rims!Thats a mk 3 body kit?
