I have found a cable with a pull/push knob on it with,I think,the letters o.r.g. on it.It is close to thr heater etc.
Can you tell me what it is?

If it looks like the knob you'll see on the right under the radio, it's a A/C switch.

Otherwise it'll probably an after market item.

Edit ... the original knob doesn't have o.r.g. on it, it has the text "PULL ON", so i'd put my money on an aftermarket installation for ???

Hello,
Thanks for your suggestion Beans but it is not the airco switch its a small ,almost diagonal shape knob which came loose when i removed the heater control panel.The "bowden"cable goes somewhere to the back of the heater unit and when pulled or pushed it sounds like a vent closing/opening.<font color="black"></font id="black"><font color="black"></font id="black"><font color="black"></font id="black">

Sounds like one of the original rod linkages from the heater was replaced by this cable somewhere in it's earlier life.
There should be no cables on a TR7 heater ...
