Marko, how old is your wedge? My solihull built car has the vin plate
on the o/s front turret and o/s rain drip channel the no. is also
stamped. I think Speke built cars the plate is mounted to the left
(passenger)door opening by the lock striker.Commision no.s are a bit
of a mystery, some cars have them by the vin plate, some on the channel
under bonnet behind n/s head light, but often these are removed on
resto's.I reckon Chris Turner will know more about this.

p.s.My Canley built auto has same plates/stamps as Solihull.
See ya. Paul

the car is "76.

i have that smaller plate on the front turret, i think the bigger one is in the drawer with all of those other original stickers removed from the car and stored with the cars papers.

im afraid that any numbers stamped in the bodywork are covered in those layers of paint and bondo.

On my '76 there is one small plate on the front panel above n/s headlamp,on n/s/f suspension turret & main chassis plate is on the edge of the n/s door.
Hope this helps

Greg.
