QUARTER LIGHTS ON DHC

COULD ANYONE PLS ADVISE ME HOW TO REMOVE THE QTR LIGHTS.
I HAVE STRIPPED THE DOOR DOWN AND NOTICE ON THE QRT LIGHT A WELDED 90 DEG BRACKET ON THE BACK LEG , WHICH WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE VERTICALLY IT FOULS THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DOOR TOP LIP. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLS

It looks like it won't come out but if you carefully twist it carefully one way and another so as to not chip the paint on the door it will come out. Then you will say "How the h*ll did I do that". Kind of like a Chinese jigsaw puzzle. It goes back in with the same patience and care.

While it's out you can drill out the rivets to remove the glass and rubber from the glass and treat the rubber with rubber restorer/cleaner, clean off any hidden corrosion and repaint the frame with black trim paint. Rerivet that attach points and it's just like new.

You have to remove the side window first. Then drill out the pop-rivet on top and undo two bolts on the inside of the door. You can now remove the division channel.
After that you can take out the quaterlights by pulling them out backwards.

i stripped mine complete but they were an arse to do. beans way is probably better.

THANKS BEANS HAVE DONE IT, I'M SURE THAT IT WILL BE JUST A DIFFICULT TO RE FIT THEM.
