No oil to the cylinder head!!!

I have 40 lbs of oil pressure at idle but no oil is getting to the camshaft!! Does anyone have any ideas besides a blocked oil galley? If not then i hear a V8 in the future!!

Oiling to the head is pretty straightforward - the feed gallery runs up the front of the block, on the intake side, and feeds the #1 camshaft cap first.

Removing the camshaft would give you access to try cleaning it out.

That's not ordinary rust - that is premium English rust!

I have the head off the block. I shot compressed air down the oil feed hole and I can hear it escaping into the pan. I felt this was a good indication the galley was open. I guess I just need to pull this motor and go with the V8. [:D]

Could there be any possibilty that the oil pump still may be on the way out with 40lbs. of pressure....I dunno....this is a weird one. Especially if you say the oil passages are clear......

If the block gallery is clear, it must be obstructed in the head. Shoot the air up through the passage in the bottom of the head to the camshaft caps.

If you pull the distributor out, you can use a socket on a cordless drill or something to spin the oil pump and make sure it is flowing freely up the front of the block.

That's not ordinary rust - that is premium English rust!
