I smoked the alternator drivebelt yesterday on my '80 Spider and for some reason cannot find the replacement in the VB online catolog. Anyone know that part number? Sorry and thanks..

Check locally first Steve...NAPA Online lists them, and Autozone actually shows they are carried in my local store.

Im sure you will get one locally much more quickly (and cheaper) - just measure the length of the old belt - and buy a spare too!

I got my at Napa for $6.00. They even had it in stock. Mine was a Gates. They're decent belts as far as quality. I usually stick with Conti Tech (Continental) but Gates is just fine.

Thanks guys - ended up getting all Daco belts here in town, although they gave me the wrong size AC fan belt and I need to get the proper size later today.. that AC belt was a bit of a buggar to get off with all the friggen brackets you hafta loosen to drop the compressor - at least compared to most cars.. Oh well, at least its well supported!

Anyways, thanks again and should be back on the road tonight..
