Hand brake question

Are all the hand brakes the same length?? I needed to replace mine and won one off of eBay. However, I'm having one heck of a time getting it installed. It's like it's too short (cable length)??

I think you will find there is a difference. The handbrake cables are certainly different lengths between 4 speed and 5, different part numbers as well!!

Gary's right, different cables for 4 and 5 speed cars.
There were actually three cables listed if I remember correctly.

So to clarify this for all - the hand brake levers are all the same - but cable lengths vary ?

Thanks everyone. I did order the correct one from VictoriaBritish. I emailed the guy from eBay that I won it from and it's actually came from a 1979 5spd. So if anyone with a 1979 5spd needs ones...............I got one and it's in great shape.
