Coin tray

This coin tray has been on the dash of my 1981 dhc ever since I bought the car in 1982 - anyone know if it's a Triumph part that was supplied with the car when new or is it just something that was left there by the first owner (it's not fixed down - it's just loose)?

Looks like an afterthought to me

I always wondered about the top dash slot in front of the passenger.
My better half still reckons it was meant for pens / pencils. There’s enough dashboard noises over potholed roads without those joining in.

Agree Bushy, I didn't spend about 5 hours fitting thin strips of foam neoprene rubber between all the squeaking, rattling bits of the dash, to them add rattling coins & things.

I'd probably use it for my sunglasses

I wonder if the slot was meant to be a grab handle?

My better half would need arms like a gibbon…

Just think how it would come in handy if you take a gibbon for a spin!
