I have a new question, do any of you use pertronix ignition on the Delco distributors? And which one would you recommend?

Answered on FB but will add here as everything gets lost on FB!

I fitted Pertronix about 4-5 years ago, never given a problem since. The model for my Delco distributor was MR-LS2.

In the UK (at that time anyway) the cheapest supply was from Retro Rockets in the US. They have a UK warehouse they ship from but the purchase is from their US site in $.

TR7 - Pertronix electronic ignition

Postby smoking joe » 26 Aug 2019 09:52

I finally took the plunge and installed the Pertronix ignition I had purchased a few months ago, delayed mainly due to it being the pain it is to install on the Delco dizzy. Had previously installed it on the moke and minis, all with lucas dizzys and its a piece of cake to do on them.

Anyway, last changed the points some 18 months ago so there was a deterioration performance and I had not touched them since, but WOW what a change in performance with the new ignition, very responsive, lost its hesitation, feels like a sports car again, plus with the super unleaded it flies !

Delighted with the outcome.

Still not looked at mine, although I do only do about 1000 miles a year.

Only as difficult to install as new points or even adjusting them really and you had to do that quite often.
