While searching the web for lighting parts, I came on a site that has many things needed for a resto-mod.

In their catalog, besides all sorts of parts, they also have many "How-To" sections, one of which I'm going to use on my project.

The catalog is available at www.carbuildersolutions.com.

I also subscribe to Skill Shack (online automotive tutorials) and Practical Classics (UK Magazine).

Give them a try and if you have other sources, add them to this string.

I have looked at their site before and wondered about some of the bits. I do like the ideas of the lighter heater unit and the universal aircon unit for my none aircon car. May have to look at their door seals as fhc door seals are so hard to get these days.

I've bought a number of items from them - all good - although I found it easier to locate them from their PDF catalogue. http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/cbs_catalogue.pdf

I just bought two GPS speedometer sensors from them, one for the 7 and one for the Westfield. I fitted the Westfield one yesterday and it works well so far and does away with the magnetic sensor reading off the prop-shaft bolts which has never been consistently reliable. Going to try the other on the 7 tomorrow because of similar problems with that.

Hi Prackers
Could you let me know what the GPS Speedo Sensors come under on the Car Builders Solution site, I have purchased quite a few items from them in the past, as I can't find them listed also where is the sensor fitted and how does it work?
Cheers
Moe

Basically it plugs into the speedometer feed, on the Westfield I just removed the prop (magnetic) sender cable and the GPS cable was a direct fit, turn the ignition on (before you connect the GPS sender), press the button to set the calibration then connect the GPS sender and that was it.....worked straight out the box, then mounted the cable and sender under the dash which seems to work fine. The TR may be more problematic since I doubt the connection plugs will fit, but it has the same three wires and works on the same principal so fingers crossed.
