Original engine bay pictures anyone ?

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

tr7dan, The cable grip is actually listed as part number UKC 4636. I had always thought it was intended to secure the tube to the air filter box and I'm puzzled that it seems to be loose midway along the tube. supercass

To be fair I have never really found the V8 to be that much more uneconomical

Could the zip tie in the brochure pic which is midway along the hot air tube be part no. AAU1843 (page1L 03L) and would it only be fitted on cars with a RH coolant tank mounting ?

I had thought that UKC4636 was the big metal 'P' clip which fastens to the top of the thermostat cover (although it doesn't look like the drawing in the parts book). If it isn't then what's the part no for the 'P' clip and which page is it on - I can't find it and I don't think I have one ?

thanks

Dan

I don't think a V8 could go from Glasgow to Billing towing a camping trailer and still return 37 to 39 mpg as i can on my 2.0L

Even in a traffic jam like this

I can match 0 mpg at 0 mph.......

Back in the day 1986 to 1991 with the 2.0L engine I used to get 33mpg at a steady 70mph and 22mpg commuting through suburbia. As a funday and sunny day V8 I get 16 to 22mpg but that's with a Holley on the top and not the lightest of right feet. 8)

I also used to get 22mpg on a year's commute in the V8. On the same commute, I got 25 mpg average in my TR7 16V.
