John, Well done, it should not be too long now.
I have always found that TR7 brakes require a 30 to 50 Km run, prior
to the last bleeding, to get them realy solid.

This is the case, even with our 8, which has only the distribution
valve, & the chassis mounted piping from the original Triumph
system, still on the car. So, my guess is, that its hard to get that
last bit of air past that valve.

I've seen where people have raised the car to take out the engine and where they have taken the transmission/engine combo out through the top at extreme angle with the rear jacked up. It seems you removed the engine with tranny still in. Was there any clearance (front to back)issues? What was it like matching up engine to the transmission from the engine hoist?

No clearance issues. It gives you more room if you remove the crank pulley and accessories. It took a bit of angling, but it wasnt too bad to get back in. It probably took about an hour to get it back in and all bolted back up. Of course we were using that thinner then too, so it may have been quicker otherwise.

That's my problem! I only use that light root beer thinner and don't hang out in bars! I think I will wheel into the kitchen and get some more thinner right now!
