I too have one. Mine had the clear cover all melted. I picked another one up, cigar lighter powered, and switched the lense. Works and looks brand new. (Canadian Tire)

I don't have a maplight in my 75FHC,but it does have the roof light, which works. I bought an unused complete assembly in it's original box for $20 on eBay last year,as mine didn't have the cover for it,and I couldn't find just the cover by itself. Did the cars with a roof light also have the map light as an option,or was it one or the other?

My car has a roof light too. I presume all the early cars have roof lights (later cars have door lights instead). I also presume the map light was an otional extra (but maybe a standard item for some models?)

According to Rimmers catalogue the the map light was for cars up to VIN number ACG25001 (for UK cars at least).

Yes and only on the earlier cars. Although handy it would be too vunerable on a DHC. (theft). All those damn FHC guys trying to get a light for their missing one.[:D]

My very early (#764) never had the map light fitted.
Maybe it became available after mine was built?
Were the lights available on the Speke built cars?

Hey All, Limerick has no map light either.[:(] Of course, it has been gone through at some point[8](before my owning it[:(!]) so there`s no telling what all it once had.[?](or didn`t have[;)]) Robbie in wyoming(where we finally got some snow last night!)

Hi Guys

For those in the UK especially, if you look at:-

http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Car_Accessories_Under_a_Fiver_40.html

you will find a very similar looking light to the one's selling on Ebay for £22 to £23 each. They are £3.99 plus a bit of p&p. I am not sure how close they are to the original, but they do look very good to me!!
