gas mileage

I got 40 mpg driving from Redding California to Portland Oregon driving a DHC FI in overdrive. This would be optimum and is based on the imperial gallon (not US). I was going a steady 50 mph as there was a shimmey over that. Top was up (too hot to put down) and rear window zipped down for resistance free flow through ventilation. On the down side Redding north goes through mountainous territory and I stopped every two hours for a break (off highway small town roads to nearest McDonalds-Taco Bell-Carls' Hamburger joints). I haven't done any other milage checks in other conditions but I'm sure I won't beat that.

B.t.w. the Sprint does between 16 and 27 mpg. Depends largely how it's driven [:D]
