I had a problem with the fuse board early on.

Some fuses were not passing current even though the contacts on the board were clean & bright as were the fuses, which tested good. I sprayed the board contacts with contact cleaner, & replaced the fuses. All working, well for about 8 months, when the problem returned.

This time I used a microfibre cloth & contact cleaner, & gave everything a good rub.

That was over 10 years ago, & the problem has not returned.

The Switch worked fine and the fusebox worked when given 12v so the fault lay between the Ignition switch junction box and the fusebox, so I connected a wire from the ignition switch directly to the fusebox, bypassing the break as it were and everything is fully functional now, although I am buying a replacement blade fusebox as the original is just that ...43years old and a little tired..Tr7V8 is behaving manfully of course, ( I only run old Triumphs) it has only ONE fault...in that it only has 2 seats, as such a poor vehicle for the school run and my 3 Grand-Children!

My guess would be a faulty coil.
I’ve had a similar problem with my Spitfire. It started fine, but after a short drive the motor stopped, like no ignition (no sparks). After cooling down it started fine again. Changing the coil cured the problem.
