Sticking door

Postby Graham Robertson » 05 May 2008 16:43

My drivers side door has been sticking for a while. Luckily today I noticed something on the garage floor which turned out to be the bottom door pin from the top hinge. I managed to push the pin back in easily enough, and tapped it in with a hammer and punch. The door is now better, but does anyone know how I can prevent the pin from working loose and falling out again?

It is a common fault with Speke built cars, I need to tap the pin back in on my early FHC or else it works loose. Perhaps a spot of weld will hold it in place.

Thanks. I might just by a spare to be ready just in case the pin falls out again and I loose it.

Hi Graham,
You could apply LOCKTITE thread lock/seal to the pin and then knock it in.
