Geting the head off!!!

Right i have handed over my car to a mechanic to see what needs to be done. But he's having trouble getting the head off! 3 bolts have seized mmm the ones facing on the passenger side and they can't seem to get them off. Has anybody else had this trouble??

Hi,
Who has'nt [:(] I am affraid they are famous for corroding into the head [:(] Lubrication and patience works normaly. Lubricate the studs, if poss build a 'dam' around them out of plastersine and fill with penertrating oil then wait,top up as nec can take days to work down.
Lots of post on here, if you do a search, with different ways of removing them.

or........ as my mechanic did drill through the bolt and i mean through the centre its realy weird to see a hollow bolt with threads on the outside but it works........ but he did say he dosent want to do another one in a hurry

Lol. Great! I'm sure he'll get it done. I just get worried as my bill may be a little more than i expected...oh well. I will be worth it.

If it is the long studs (rather than the shorter bolts) that are siezed it may be better (and cheaper for you) for him to weld nuts onto the ends so that he can get a socket and a serious cheater bar on them to break them free.
I went through the hell of head removal last fall and have to say it is the worst job I have ever undertaken on any car!I destroyed my head and wish that I had just gone the route above from the get-go.
