I think i have discovered why the engine is covered in oil, the dipstick tube has split and is now in 2 parts.

Simon, join the club.

There are only 2 types of original dip stick tubes in TR7s.

Those that have fallen apart, & those that are about to.

Same problem here - how easy is to just use a short dipstick - straight into the block without the daft tube ?
