You guys are gonna make me finish arent you??

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

It seems we all have the same problem. When I mention how nice it would be to get a pre 70's Triumph Bonneville like one I bought new in '68 she gets, shall we say, not impressed. I had to pass on a free '86 Saab turbo that just needed a clutch job because I had no more space. Although I live on a .65 acre lot it is mostly sloping and requires downing massive trees, cutting into shale bedrock, very expensive. Maybe when I win the lottery.

you know, this is yet again another one of those times when I sooooo wish you guys were just a tad closer to us........Man it's too bad shipping would prolly be twice (maybe three times?) the value of the car, or I would so be all over this little car.

Btw Paul, how much do you want for the Austin???
(he says cringing .......)

Ron,lets just say that it owes me far more than its worth.
It got far more attention than the tr's and would break
my heart as it repayed my kindness by breaking down.
Austins been welded up at the rear with a 2nd hand sub-
frame shipped in from New Zealand, only place i could get
one at the time. Then its hydrogalactic suspension sprung
a leak!Last nail in the coffin was the idle bearings
exploding round the gearbox, its a rare box,to complicate
things(rod change, not remote like 5 million others built!)
and i'm still trying to locate one at a sensible price.
All the above is the tip of the iceberg!Far more has been
rectified thats gone wrong. Its gotta go!Probably to a
member of the 1100 owners club.

See ya. Paul
