1977 TR7 Sprint

I found some 1998/9 BMW centers at a wreckers that were a good fit for my after market wheels.The centre is a very similar size, the ones from TR8 wheels are just slightly loose in them.

The BMW logo was just a printed bit on vinyl, stuck on, & came off easily.

I have been working on these for some months now and the project is reaching a conclusion! 500 have been made from a solid aluminium billet and the first batch are being polished and anodised at present. I should have the first 150 available for sale to attendees of the New Forest Run on April 17th.....

Price is £12.00 (VAT at 20% pushes this up from the £10 I was hoping for) per alloy centre - ie £48 for a set of 4 or £60 if you want to put one on the spare wheel as well?
Postage and packing is extra - and of course that has just gone up as of the 1April.

The photographs show an original (slightly used) wheel centre and the anodised and polished replacement. Note that the size is the same - it is the perspective of the shot (trying to stop reflections) that makes them look different!

Does anyone know if these came on the TR7 TR8 alloy spare wheels originally? A photograph from a boot well from the late 1970s or early 80s would help authenticate that!

Not from the 70's or 80's but my totally stock/original Spider has centre cap on spare wheel (had original tools in blue plastic bag as well). She hadn't made any changes to the car (the different seat coverings were there when she bought it in 1985). I'm making the assumption that the original owner didn't add it during the 5 years he owned it.

Rimmers list some, I guess they have found a substitute? If so in my experience such substitutes are often of poor quality. Their price is more as well!

Ones I took off (aftermarket one , then an original BL but bashed over the years) lastly the finished product!

The first batch of these has successfully made it through the post so I now have full pricing available. I would still prefer to hand deliver at £12 per unit (so I know they have been safely received!) at events such as the Bullet Run (June), TRDC National weekend (July) etc etc but for postage and packing (including insurance etc) the following is the table of costs ( sorry these have had to rise see entry on 4 Jan 2017 ):



Contact me for a quote if you want more than 5 as the postage threshold will be breached. Unit postage and packing cost will be lower for a larger number.

Polished and anodised - or plain?

I only had half the batch of 500 anodised and polished last month as I wanted to keep my initial outlay down. Having taken orders for over 1/4 of them I am now intending to have the second half polished and anodised too. If anyone wants a plain set (so that they can have them anodised in blue, red, green etc to match their own wheels) then please let me know soon as once anodised, I am not sure that one could colour and re-anodise them !

The photograph shows a "plain" and a "polished and anodised" centre, either side of an earlier sample that has been exposed to the air and dulled - something that the non anodised ones will do in time....
