Diffs and their interchangeability...

A friend has been tasked with rebuilding an expired diff on a Caterham.
The origin of the back axle was allegedly a Marina TC.
Am I right in thinking that a TR7 4-speed unit might be a viable replacement?
If so, any suggestions where to source such a thing?
