Flash sequence

When I pull the headlight flash lever the following is the sequence:

pull lever - lights come on and pods rise
release lever - lights go out pods stay up (without any lights on)
4 seconds later pods go down.

the only way to have the lights on when the pods are up is to hold the flash lever on for a couple of seconds but as soon as you release the lever the lights go out and 4 seconds later the pods go down.

Is this correct ? I would have expected the lights to stay on for as long as the pods were up and then go off when the pods return down.

If it should work as in the last statement then what is wrong with mine?

How do yours work??

Your sequence is the same as mine David, & as far as I know that is correct.

The flash action has a built in delay before closing the pods in case you wish to flash the lights a second time (or more!).

I don't think there is anything wrong with yours.

you buggers in the UK get all the cool toys. If we pull on ours, the flash and stay down...kinda stupid, I'd say.

Saves wear and tear on the motors and lift mechanisms though.[8D]

The delay is governed by that pektron box thingy? My lights stay
up for at least an eternity! I assume that removing the pektron
box thingy, and a bit of wireing loom trickery after would make the
pods stay up only as long as you pulled on the switch? Anybods done
this?If you have, what wireing is needed?

See ya. Paul

If we're going to Mod the flash sequence - how cool would it be for them to alternately flash and wink!

Hang on - sometimes they do that anyway [:p]

well if were talking about mods why not have them

1. stay down and light the road, as to not blind any Rabbits or find that bolt you just dropped

2. alternate wink either side, this would be great as a police car

3. just pop up and not flash at all.... very confusing

4. pop up and flash wow that would be good :-)

5 stay down not flash but fill the interior with smoke hmmmm was that a dream or did that really happen, then rip out the wiring loom and start again [:D]

6. perhaps these and other sequences could be devised as a sort of secret code or sign language, ie left pod risen "HI" right pod "i'm getting irritataded now" both "get outa my way"

Unfortunately winking headlights are illegal here as the police reserve their use for emergency vehicles. They call theirs "Wig-Wags"
