as i mentioned in another thread i viewed this car last saturday. its better than a donar its begging to be finished off all underneath solid conversion is really good standard. his pictures certainly dont do it justice the engine is superb and he is after 3k its still in tax and mot what has happened is it was on the road as the conversion and he has started to tidy up and put right some things he wasn't hapy with hence it looks like an half complete job the guy is also in the forces and struggles with time. interesting the level of detail even though the dash is really to modern in my opinion it has,nt just been painted as it looks it is leather stitched covered. i am very interested only stumbling block is finances.

if you factor in the earth's rotation, we are all speeding

When you consider the time effort and cost of attempting to turn a TR7 into something else... and then at the end of the day people are going to say... oh, look it's actually a TR7, then I think that someone, somewhere, lost the plot. Such behaviour (uniquely british?) deserves lasting recognition! This car when finished would be a fantastic talking point at TR shows etc, I do hope someone buys it and finishes it.

I agree, the car looks very close to a Ferrari, a lot more than many other relicas that I have seen, and it has the right engine, Looks like it would only need a little TLC and a quick paint job to make it a very unique show car.
The beauty of buying something like this is that it is already done and you don't need to take credit for the wild amount of money and time that it took to create it.
It is what it is and it looks great.

It made me think of the TV adverts of the Acura NSX as it cruised through the streets of an Italian village as the the old men would smile and nod as the overdub said "Ferrari?....No Acura".

I can see it in a car show with the placard reading "Ferrari?....no TR7".

I can see all the MG guys behind the bushes upchucking.[:D]

And the crowd at the car show clutching their privates as they roar with laughter. A Ferrari is a Ferrari - a copy is just sad!

The car is a celebration of the era when sad was a fact of life for most people, when a real Ferrari was an impossible dream so you had to make your own. It's as period as a Black and White TV or Thunderbirds.

I would be inclined to make up badges for it in the Ferrari style and colours but saying Triumph. Then you could call it a special bodied TR7 and not a replica.
