So I went and did it again I answered an add in the paper, "PROJECT TR7, NEEDS WORK" So I meet the guy at his storage locker, and he lifts the door and what do I see a 1980 Conv TR7 completely striped down and I mean stripped. Turns out his wife wanted to move and he agreed, he went from an oversized double garage to a single [:D] We both agreed that was a mistake. At first glance I figured it was too much of a project for me as I have three going already, a baby on the way, kitchen reno's, three jobs etc.... So for shit's and giggles[:D] I decided to let him walk me through what he had done already.

Let me tell you I have always wanted to take apart a car in the manner he did but I just don't have the patience I don't think[;)] Every bolt, nut, washer, part everything was bagged and labeled I couldn't believe it. Then he starts pulling out the new parts he had accumulated over the years to complete the restoration. New top, new carpet, new clutch, new shocks, new wheel bearings, new uprated springs, poly bushings for the whole car, new pistions, new piston rings, main bearings, rod bearings, water pump, air filter, fuel fiter, caliper pistons, carb rebuild kits, wheel cylinders I mean the list goes on and on.

So what do you think I did..............

Yea I bought it [:D] and I took over the storage shed as well just for the winter until I can figure something else out.

Total price I bet your wondering........

$1200 CAD A steal of a deal. He was moving onto another hobby since he didn't have the room to work on the car anymore. I just couldn't pass it up.

I have pictures but they are at home I will try to get them up tomorrow. I'm not out of my mind am I?[:p]

Dude , you not out of your mind, , heck it's a deal of a lifetime!!

Your could easily double (if not triple) your investment by just selling off the stuff you don't need.......

Amazing find, can't wait to see some pics of the shell!!

I'd have done it in a flash, regardless of the explaining I'd need to do at home!

I get out to Calgary on occasion, to see daughter and other family. Maybe I can have a look? Just for fun of course!

I keep buying them as well. Started off restoring one and I recently bought my fourth for spares. Luckily I have a good mate with a big back yard and I store them there. I never pay more than £100 quid for a car so I can loose the money over a couple of weeks. Mind you I thought I was being clever until she noticed four registration documents in my car file.

Damn shes smarter than me!

If it doesn't fit you obviously need a bigger hammer.

Hey All, A "wedge asylum"?[:D] I wanna go![:p] where do we line up?[?](ha,ha) Thats an asylum I`d gladly go to![8D] Hope all is well with everyone this day and way to go on your new/old car.[;)] Good deal and I hope that you can get it on the road soon.[^] you can also make some money back by selling off "surplus"? parts.[;)] I`d just use that as an excuse to the misses for getting it.[:)][?] Good day to all, Robbie in wyoming(and the limerick[:(!][xx(])

Those are the best deals when someone gives up a project. Thier loss but lots of parts for pennies on the dollar. I'm way familiar with the couch thing too.

Sorry my bad [:D] What you see there is a 1929 Ford Model A Coupe. During the war time years, farmers couldn't find trucks. So they cut off the back ends of thier coupes and threw a truck bed on it. Not only that but you only got, I think $5 worth of gas for a car (a month) but if you had a truck you got $10.

Hey Yoke, as mentioned a while ago, I'll be in Calgary next week. Will you be available to let me look at your treasures, maybe on the 27th or 28th? If you will, I'll email you to arrange a day and time. Thanks!
