tomoro is the day i get my wedgie back on the road i got another engine of james today it was fitted with a new clutch an auxilleries tomor is the day i get to start it having building work done on back of the house couldnt get to my baby but hey its winter time lol ill get to tear up the road in it with the top down whoooooooooooooooooooo

hi john after hours of no life then stripping 3 sets of carbs to make 1 good 1 some easy start anb a lot of prayers with help of booster pack she burst into life[}:)]an then setting her up wow wat a babe id trade in a girlfriend if i had 1 but ill wait till i put new front struts on tomoro cant wait she may be not much to look at at minute but shes so cool forget modern cars theyr soulless ill keep ya posted mate steve

Yippee! Another one springing back to life!

The way things are going Paul I think affording a TR7 shortly may be problematic if you don't already have one. 2007 really has proved to be the year of the 7. And 2008 will start with David Knowles book so the trend looks set to continue.

hi paul john yes cant wait springs n struts done now so ill b taking her out after bonnets on started her up lovely today my neighbours son passed my garage today asked me wat my car was [:)]as he is only 17 hed never seen 1 told him it was a wedge 7 an its british wats more it older than him an its still on the road cant say that for todays junk theyre throwing together ill post how its goes tomorro wen i take her out

The original sunroofs are no longer available. Its possible to get them re covered.

I also am planning to get my '7 back on the road. For the past 5 months it's been sitting in the garden as my finance moved in during the summer. Filled the garage with her stuff but now after months of assembling bedroom furniture, insulating & boarding the loft, finding people to take the spare washing machine off our hands etc etc the garage became empty & last night I dragged the '7 back into it.

Plus side : whilst turning it over on the starter to move it around, I believe I managed to free the clutch off. The brakes weren't seized either.

Negative Side : It didn't occur to me that the sunroof would leak. So mouldy headlining, carpets & seats, 2" of water in each footwell.
Soaked the water up and left window open to help it all dry out in the garage.

I think the sunroof is a "dodgy Dave" aftermarket one but when i find the pics from when it was restored in mid 1990's I'll see if it had a sunroof then (I guess it probably did).

loads of jobs to do on it but just need to free up a bit more room in the garage so I can work on it.

I'd recommend running a dehumidifier in the garage for a while gingerstu. They can be had for very little money nowadays.

I had noticed you'd purchased a fixed head Paul. Well done (despite the sun roof!!!)

Rocky, well done with your TR. Good luck if you brave taking it out today. Judging by the weather down here is sunny Cornwall (that's a joke everyone!) it should be interesting. There's no way mine is going out in this weather. I made the mistake of taking it out in snow earlier in the year and it wasn't happy. That was a necessary trip though to meet up with the esteemed Harris Mann so the car had to come for filming purposes. The usual reliability went out the window on that trip... possibly something to do with the car being nervous about meeting its maker!

I am glad the engine I sold you is running sweet and hope next year the weather greatly improves from this one to let you and your dad enjoy the TR7 to the full.
