As you can tell from my screen name I am the proud owner of a 1980 DHC. It is roughly the same color blue as the DHC in the pic at the upper left of this page (what ever the official name for that color is). It was my first car when I was 16, bought for about $1200 USD in 1993. Seeing as it is my first car I have never been able to bring myself to sell it even with all the trouble it has given me. My wife and I just recently bought a house with an enclosed garage so I now have a place to work on it, which will hopefully start soon. I will be around the site regularly looking for help on the car and I look forward to building some great friendships.
Regards,
Holt

Welcome to the site, Holt. There is a wealth of information from the members here. There is also a good search option to search past forum subjects that comes in handy.

Can't be sure but if your car is the original colour then I think it may be called Persian Aqua. Welcome to the site and never be afraid to ask a question no matter how silly it sounds. The great thing about these forums is that they help us to get our cars back on the road so much quicker and cheaper.
Enjoy
If it doesn't fit you obviously need a bigger hammer.

Welcome Holt wow thats fantastic owning it from new, what i would love you to tell us oneday is what it was like owning what was a very unusual car for in it's time, against the disgrunted die hard Tr fans of that time...
To me the car seems to have got bad press after the colopse of Triumph rather than at the time of it's launch

John, I wasn't clear in my post. I bought the car in 1993 when I was sixteen and it was a 13 year old little British sports car that no one at my High School had ever seen before. The pic I refrenced in the corner looked different after I swapped monitors last night because my car is definately not Persian Aqua, it is a much brighter blue sort of like the shade of blue that some of the old Bughatti race cars or a blue I have seen on a few MG's. In must be a factory color or just popular because I saw a guy at a gas station one time that had a coupe the same color As soon as I find my cable to connect my digital camera I will post some pics of the car.

If it is the original colour Holt, then your car sounds like it could be Pageant Blue.

Someone on eBay has a DHC for sale that is that bright blue that isn't Persian Aqua...is it called Delft or something like that?
It has Minilites and looks pretty sharp. I'm at work or I'd send the link, but it sounds like what he is describing.
