Handbrake cable components and layout

Hi,
I've been lurking for a while and I realise this isn't the best time for my first post with the forum about to go offline for a few days but anyway...
Can anyone please direct me to a picture (preferably a photo) of the standard layout of a TR7 handbrake cable where it runs above the prop shaft (underneath the car) in the 300mm/12 inches behind where the cable connects to the handbrake?
My TR7 has been modified by a previous owner - amongst other things the rear axle assembly is out of a Nissan Skyline R31 complete with disc brakes, but the handbrake just doesn't work. Talking with some sympathetic mechanic friends we know what is most likely the problem but for now I'd like to know what the original layout looked like.
Thanks in advance,
Alan.
