I was a mechanic for 10 years so really looking forward to getting my hands dirty again lol
You've got a leg up then. Although I worked for IBM fixing office equipment, I didn't start working on cars until my '71 Javelin in '74 when it started needing attention. When I got my Spider the first summer/winter (2206/2007) I cleaned every electrical contact and put dielectric grease on them. The single most important job I did on it. Stopped any electrical problems for the next 12 years and counting. Although it was all original (owned by a lady) the rubber was deteriorated so had to be replaced. Drove it in the summer, worked on it in the winter (rains here like England). Systematically went over the whole car over the years. Helps if you have a garage though, common here, seems like not so much there.
