Let's try to spread the word around and get as many people there for this as possible...
At 3pm on the Saturday the 10th of November during the Lancaster Classic Motor Show at the NEC, the TR Drivers Club will be having a bit of a do on the Harris Mann stand hall 4, stand 590 which is there to commemorate his 80th birthday earlier this year. The stand is planned to display a red Princess, a blue TR7 Sprint and a white MG Xpower SV which have been specifically chosen to represent a patriotic colour scheme and also to showcase some of the historic, futuristic cars Harris was either involved with or wholly responsible for.
Harris is going to be presented with a special award, but you’ll have to be there to find out all about it. Harris’s continuing involvement with the cars he created is a great example to us all and since taking up the role as Honorary President of the TRDC he has been a great asset in promoting these iconic, wedge shaped sports cars to the world, not least with the TRDCs current project to re-manufacture TR7 panels following the scandalous scrapping of the existing press tools by British Motor Heritage.
Simon Goldsworthy, editor of Triumph World Magazine, will be making the presentation which will be followed by the cutting of a cake supplied by the TRDC and we are hoping to press the TR Register and the Triumph Sports Six Club into providing the tea! It should all make for a jolly good do. See you all there!
