Poly Steering Bush Stiction

In case this happens to others on the forum, I haven't seen it before on here.

I had several spells of steering wheel Stiction after i replaced the disintegrated nylon bush with a poly item, usually on hot days after about 20 to 30 minutes driving. It was most noticeable around the straight ahead position.

I found a squirt of furniture polish on the polybush removed it completely. I expect it's the silicones in it. I don't know if the beige gunge that's supplied with suspension poly bushes has the same effect as I had none left.

Hope this helps,

Adam

I've used some of the assembly grease provided with most poly bushes on both my cars and haven't had any problems so far with the steering.
But the steering did feel very stiff while trial fitting without grease while assembling the DHC during its restoration.

That was the problem, the steering polybush came without assembly grease.

I've used spray polish to free up sticking curtain track runners for many years. I was surprised what a difference it made to the steering effort.
