Triumph TR7 VIN number information

Hello again everyone.

I still haven't had a chance to do much of anything with my '76 TR7. Does anyone know where I could find some information about the VIN number. It starts with an AC and ends in a U. I assume all the numbers in the middle are production run numbers, but if they have some other significance I would love to know.

ok all information received and as expected the title was slightly wrong and the VIN number started with ACL. This tells us it was a North American coupe made at Speke Liverpool.

There then follows 6 digits (the first being an '0') and then a '2' which tells me it is a late one (built in 1976/77)

This particular car left the factory on 12th July 1976 - British Racing Green (HAA paint code) with beige cord interior (CAAA) - it was a 4-speed manual (Gearbox number 25264) non sun-roof - Engine number CL 22977 UE (and key numbers are on file).

The other T +++++ CG tag is the trim tag and the T++++++ tag is the pre paint body tag.
