Hi
Now the cars on the road I've noticed a wee problem. The bonnet wobbles. I guess rubber stoppers are missing. According to Rimmer's. They are. How do they fit though? Do they just slide over the hook things? How are they held on. Just the right fit?

Yes, they are a friction fit and they slide over the bonnet hooks. supercass

I couldn't get them here, so made some to the pattern left behind by the old ones. I used 2 thicknesses of coal loader conveyer belt, which gives enough gentle contact to stop movement.

Yes, that's them. When I put on new rubber on the air plenum and car, I had to raise the latch to match the raised height of the new rubber or there was so much pressure on the latch I couldn't release the latch. This raised the hood such that the rubber stops didn't contact the car so the hood does wiggle a bit. I figured the rubber would take a set after while and I could lower the latch. After 10 years, still waiting.

I had a similar problem even with new rubbers. It turned out that arch on the rear of the bonnet had been flatten out. A block of wood under the center of the rear edge and a gentle push on both corners soon fixed it.
