I am replacing the hood press studs but don`t want to have to remove the top to use one of those hammer type of drifts, is there a pliers type of thing available that you can use? I have tried online searching but the results are not very clear whether they would work. What have others used and could you point me in the right direction?
Ta in advance.

There is a pliers type that you can get at a fabric store, but they are often pretty weak, so I would not recommend them for a soft top. I've seen types that fit over vise grips, and there are various heavier duty types.
Here is perhaps the very best, but pricey:

I finally found the version that goes into your vise grips. I think this is the best option if you are only doing a few. If you where doing more, I would invest in one of the higher-end options:
