Good idea. While digital pictures are better now than years past they do put a different cast to colours depending on manufacturer and the colour of light changes through out the day, types of lighting in artificial lighting. For example, Panasonic cameras gave a blue cast, Canon's were over saturated, Olympus was closest not to mention different computer screens show colours differently. While our eyes (brains really) compensate for these differences they do show up when compared side by side. An example, at my sister's wedding I had to decrease the colour from a Canon camera by 30% and up my Olympus by 5-10% to get a consistency from one picture to the next. When comparing to fabric it should be done from a sample that has been little exposed to sun light (around a corner or in some crack/seam) so it's not faded.
